Since 1977 the present hall has been managed by a charitable trust to whom it is leased from the owners of the Mackley Industrial Estate on payment of a peppercorn rent. The hall is greatly valued as an amenity for the local community, bringing together people from across the village by providing a welcoming space for local societies and social groups to hold their meetings and events. The hall provides a place where local people can meet, organise activities, attend talks and classes, and come together as a community. ## A charitable community facility Small Dole Village Hall is operated for the benefit of the local community on a charitable basis (Registered Charity No. 1212662) and is managed by the unpaid volunteers serving on the Small Dole Village Hall Management Committee and their helpers. Income from hall hire helps contribute towards the running costs, maintenance and continued availability of the building. By hiring the hall, joining a local activity or supporting events held here, you are helping to maintain an important community resource for Small Dole and future generations. ## A place for the community Village halls play an important role in rural communities. They provide somewhere for people to meet that is independent, local and accessible. Small Dole Village Hall continues this tradition by providing an affordable venue for local organisations, groups, residents and appropriate private bookings. We are proud to be part of the Small Dole community and [welcome enquiries](https://http/hiring-the-hall/hire-the-hall) from anyone interested in using the hall. © 2026 Small Dole Village Hall Management Committee ```json { "@context": "http:\/\/schema.org", "@graph": [ { "@type": "Article", "author": { "@id": "https:\/\/www.smalldolehall.org.uk\/#steve_vyse_441273cd1b" }, "dateModified": "2026-09-08T14:48:53Z", "datePublished": "2026-09-01T20:17:33Z", "description": "The Small Dole Village Hall is a characterful community hall located beside the A2037 Henfield Road in Small Dole, West Sussex and is available to hire for social gatherings, committee meetings, regular classes and other community events.", "headline": "About the hall", "image": { "@id": "https:\/\/www.smalldolehall.org.uk\/#defaultLogo" }, "inLanguage": "en-GB", "mainEntityOfPage": { "@type": "WebPage", "url": "https:\/\/www.smalldolehall.org.uk\/about-the-hall\/about-small-dole-village-hall" }, "publisher": { "@id": "https:\/\/www.smalldolehall.org.uk\/#defaultPublisher" }, "url": "https:\/\/www.smalldolehall.org.uk\/about-the-hall\/about-small-dole-village-hall" }, { "@type": "Person", "name": "Steve Vyse", "@id": "https:\/\/www.smalldolehall.org.uk\/#steve_vyse_441273cd1b" }, { "@id": "https:\/\/www.smalldolehall.org.uk\/#defaultLogo", "@type": "ImageObject", "url": "https:\/\/www.sussexbookcollector.co.uk\/images\/TSBC-Graphic-Raster-v1-400px.png", "width": 402, "height": 223 }, { "@id": "https:\/\/www.smalldolehall.org.uk\/#defaultPublisher", "@type": "Organization", "url": "https:\/\/www.smalldolehall.org.uk\/", "logo": { "@id": "https:\/\/www.smalldolehall.org.uk\/#defaultLogo" }, "name": "The Sussex Book Collector", "location": { "@id": "https:\/\/www.smalldolehall.org.uk\/#defaultPlace" } }, { "@id": "https:\/\/www.smalldolehall.org.uk\/#defaultPlace", "@type": "Place", "address": { "@id": "https:\/\/www.smalldolehall.org.uk\/#defaultAddress" }, "geo": { "@id": "https:\/\/www.smalldolehall.org.uk\/#defaultGeo" }, "openingHoursSpecification": [ { "@type": "OpeningHoursSpecification", "dayOfWeek": [ "monday", "tuesday", "wednesday", "thursday", "friday" ], "opens": "09:00", "closes": "17:00" } ] }, { "@id": "https:\/\/www.smalldolehall.org.uk\/#defaultAddress", "@type": "PostalAddress", "addressLocality": "Shoreham-by-Sea", "addressRegion": "West Sussex", "postalCode": "BN43 5RF", "streetAddress": "33 East Meadway", "addressCountry": "GB" }, { "@id": "https:\/\/www.smalldolehall.org.uk\/#defaultGeo", "@type": "GeoCoordinates", "latitude": "50.828280", "longitude": "-0.261920" } ] } ```
